~The Songird Sings~

5/12/18

For as much as technology has thrusted us forward it's pushed us back. We've lost the power to connect. So many spend time looking at screens they've lost the power that comes from looking someone in their eyes. We're so busy putting hashtags we've forgotten how to pick up the phone and have a real conversation. We've replaced a hearty laugh with LOL, sorry but that's not the same. A colon with a parenthesis will never replace a real smile. Wireless connections will never replace a hug or a hand on the shoulder or waist. A tweet will never replace that priceless moment of a simultaneous "aha" from a live conversation. FB likes can't compare to a family reunion or retreat. Technology can store our memories but can't create the true memories that come when we engage in the power to connect.
