LEGEND
When I heard of the passing of Sidney Poitier I wrote the following poem:
What happens when legends pass?
Do we do what is necessary to have their purpose last?
Does their loss encompass us like a cast?
Does their absence hit us like shattered glass?
Does their impact touch individuals or the mass-es?
Do we begin to view their journey through rose colored glass-es?
Do we see their lives as beautifully watered green grass?
