A Unique Spin on Wicked
This past weekend, I celebrated my 47th birthday, and one of the activities was going to the movies. Although Wicked has been around for years as a Broadway play, I was unfamiliar with the story. Like many, I grew up with The Wizard of Oz. I can’t pinpoint exactly when I first saw it—probably before I turned 10—but it shaped my understanding of the characters. For over 30 years, I carried the narrative that the “Wicked Witch” was evil. Why? Because that's what I saw, and that’s what I heard. I never thought to question it.
But this birthday, I discovered how wrong I had been all this time. Watching Wicked revealed a completely different side of the story—one that upended what I thought I knew. It made me reflect: How often do we accept narratives without question? How many stories about people, situations, or even the world have been shaped by incomplete or biased perspectives?
In the movie, the character I had believed to be good turned out to be the true villain, and the one labeled "wicked" was actually misunderstood and good at heart. This left me stunned. It was a powerful reminder of how narratives can be manipulated for decades, depending on who holds the mic and tells the story.
I couldn’t ignore the prophetic timing of the film’s release. It feels like we’re in a season where long-held narratives are being challenged and rewritten. Vindication is coming. For some, it will happen quietly; for others, it will be as public as a blockbuster premiere. Truths that have been hidden for years are about to surface, and when they do, they will leave some in awe, some in tears, and others in fear.
This revelation is more than a plot twist—it’s a message. Liberation, freedom, and hope are on the horizon. Those who have been misunderstood, overlooked, or misjudged are about to be seen for who they truly are. And when vindication comes, it will speak for itself—loud and clear.
Godly vindication is something that, when done, you won’t have to say a word. Many have been waiting, praying, and crying in silence, but the wait for many is over. Your narrative is about to be told, and many will now see the REAL you. Your truth will emerge, and the right narrative will finally be on display.
