Connected

I was having a conversation this morning and they mentioned having a family member who has a different belief system. They said they used to go back and forth about religion but God told them to just love. Over the years they've now had a good relationship and they've continued to pray for the family member. I interjected and said to pray for the family member to have an encounter. Many have been disappointed by people, churches, systems, and religion, while others have embraced different belief systems. When that is the case they can need more than words, they need an encounter with truth. I then shared how my FB memory for today was from 2019 when I wrote about Saul. We seem to forget that he was in between murders when he encountered God. He was in between a zealous drive to get rid of Christians when he encountered Love.  

Many times we quote Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. As I thought about this verse and Saul I came to the conclusion that God's love is connected to us even when we are not connected to Him. Sometimes we need to change the approach of how we pray. I would say encounter would be a nice addition. Look at how it impacted Saul...ijs
