The Power of Proximity

The Love of God is felt and intensified by the closer you get to Him. It’s like a room with a fireplace. The fire doesn’t change but based on where you position yourself determines how warm you will be. If you are in the corner you won’t feel as much heat as the person on the couch in front of the fireplace. And the person lying on the floor feels even more heat. Some people feel that God doesn’t love them but it’s not Him they don’t invest the time. They don’t read, pray or fast. They are in the corner spiritually but want the same heat the person on the couch or the floor is feeling. All they have to do is adjust their position. You can move closer to the fire. It’s your decision which determines how much heat (warmth, love, assurance) you will feel.

Song of Solomon 8:6

Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death;... the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
