Obedience

5/7/19

I woke up this morning thinking about obedience. I was then brought to 2 passages of scripture which speak of obedience. There are levels to obedience and I believe that many are being called to a greater level of obedience. Understanding some requests of obedience are more extreme than others but all require the proper response. There is also what I consider to be two types of obedience, fear-based-obedience and love-based-obedience. There is a process and a pruning to shift us from the fear to the love. I'll share the person whose obedience struck me the most this morning. It was a man by the name of Ananias found in Acts 9 and his obedience was very significant.

10 Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.”11 So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. 12 And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight.” 13 Then Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. 14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.” 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. 16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.”

Ananias was not an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher. He was a believer given a major assignment. He was called to a man known as a killer. Wow MaShani Allen!!! Not only was he called to the man, but the man knew his name and was waiting for him to come. Whose waiting on you? Who has God shown you to that needs you to obey and arrive? Not only arrive but to operate in signs, wonders and miracles? Though you may have 'heard' things about people that may be true that doesn't dismiss you from obeying. You never know who is God's chosen. All of them are not sitting in the pews. Some have to be sought out in the darkness but they are waiting for their eye's to be opened.  It's not just 'that' you obey but 'how' you obey. On 1.28.19 the Lord said the following to me, “This is the hour that My Divine Dealings are coming upon my people. Some of it is to correct. Some of it is to protect. Some of it is to direct but none of it is to be resisted or rejected.” Ananias experienced a divine dealing which required an obedience which made him uncomfortable but he responded properly. It's time for us to see and view people through God's eyes and not our own. Some are about to be called to the 'Sauls' of this day but you must go to them with love while operating in power. Be His heart, His hands and His voice!!!
